
Emma Tessier first completed her flute and chamber music studies at the Conservatoire National de Région de RueilMalmaison with Philippe Pierlot and in the Conservatoire de Paris with Vincent Lucas . She then completed a Masters degree in Performance in the University of Toronto with Patrick Gallois.
Emma has won several scholarships and prizes throughout her studies, including first prizes in national and international competitions. Emma has performed as a soloist with various orchestras, including Orchestra de Bolzano y Trento in Italy, Orquesta de Aveiro in Portugal, Oulu Sinfonia in Finland, Sinfonia Finlandia in Japan and Finland.
Since moving to Finland in 2004, Emma has been the co-principal flute and principal piccolo in the Jyväskylä Sinfonia until 2011, the principal flute in the Lapland Chamber Orchestra in spring 2009, and since 2011 she holds the flute co-principal chair in Oulu Sinfonia.
A dedicated teacher, Emma has held flute teacher and/or chamber music lecturer positions in many cities she has lived in, including Paris, Toronto, Jyväskylä, and Rovaniemi.
