Originally from Culiacan, Mexico, Alan Guerra completed his Bachelor’s studies in Mexico City at the Higher School of Music of the National Fine Arts Institute. He later graduated with a Master’s Degree at the Sibelius Academy in 2022, where he studied with Petri Kumela.
Alan is a versatile musician who enjoys playing Bach on a classical guitar as much as playing folk music on traditional Mexican instruments. This has given him the opportunity to perform in many classical music scenarios, as well as folk festivals around Finland.
Alan has 15 years of experience teaching guitar to students of all ages and all levels, including a role as a professor at the Bachelor’s level in the Autonomous Western University in Mexico.
