Indian Music Playschool Lessons
Our Indian music playschool for children offers a nurturing and joyful environment where young minds can explore and develop their musical talents.

Music Playschool Lessons for Children Ages 3-6
Welcome to our fun and engaging Indian Music Playschool Lessons! Lessons include:
- Introduction to classical instruments like tabla, harmonium, and tanpura.
- Singing & Vocal Training: Learn the basics of Indian classical singing (Swaras and Talas), and learn Sanskrit Stotras, Songs and Bhajans.
- Creative Movement: Dance and rhythm activities that enhance coordination and musicality.
- Music and Play: Integrative play sessions where music and fun go hand in hand.
- Relaxation Techniques: Young children are taught to self-heal and relax using effective breathing techniques.
- End of Season Concert: With our concerts children learn to perform on stage with confidence.
All lessons are taught in English or in Hindi (as necessary).

Ages 3-4: 157,50€ per semester (15 x 30 min lessons)
Ages 5-6: 195€ per semester (15 x 45 min lessons)
Children are welcome to start lessons at any time during the semester. The semester fee will be adjusted according to the number of lessons remaining.
Indian Voice Lessons

Indian Voice Group Lessons for All Ages
Indian Classical Voice Lessons
These lessons follow the ancient Indian ‘Guru-Shishya Parampara,‘ a teacher-disciple tradition inherent in Indian culture. Lessons will include:
- Voice training, stability and pitch correction
- Building a solid foundation of Swaras (12 Musical Notes), Talas (Rhythms) and Voice training through various note arrangement patterns (Paltas and Alankaras)
- Sing along with Indian musical instruments like Tanpura, Harmonium and Tabla
- An introduction to Indian Ragas, their basis, style and personality, light classical songs, bhajans, folk music
- Breathwork and self-healing techniques through music
- Music Theory and History of Indian Musical Tradition
- Participation in end of the season concerts

Bollywood Voice Lessons
Dive into the colorful, emotional world of movie music–from Bollywood’s powerful ballads to Hollywood’s unforgettable hits. Students will learn to deliver songs with charisma, emotions, and the sparkle of a star.

Tabla Lessons

Indian Percussion Tabla Group Lessons
The ISM Indian Tabla Lessons offer an exciting opportunity for children and adults to delve into the rhythmic world of Indian Classical Percussion through the art of tabla, while developing coordination, focus, and a deep appreciation for Indian music traditions.
The course includes:
- Foundational training in tabla techniques including hand positioning, basic bols (syllables), and rhythm patterns (taals) used in Indian classical and folk music.
- Progressive exercises in timing, tempo control, and improvisation to help children understand rhythm cycles and develop precision and speed.
- Introduction to compositions such as kaydas, tukras, and relas, with opportunities to perform solo pieces and accompany vocal or instrumental music.
- Exposure to regional and folk rhythms from across India, enhancing their musical versatility and cultural understanding.
Overall, this is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the discipline and joy of rhythm through an engaging, collaborative, and culturally rich learning environment.

Indian Music Choir

Indian Music Choir
The course includes:
- A wide range of vocal techniques including breathing control, pitch and tone correction, improving voice range, diction and pronunciation, posture, stage presence and over all knowledge of Indian Music.
- Voice modulations and dialogue delivery techniques while preparing for exclusive performances that require children to enact plays through music and dialogues.
- An immersive experience in the folk and other ethnic traditions of India that allows children to explore learning songs of various languages and cultures from India.
Overall, this is a wonderful way to introduce your child into a disciplined, team-work oriented, multi-cultural learning environment.

Meet the Teachers
Ujjainee Ghosh
Ujjainee Ghosh holds a Senior Diploma in Indian Classical Music awarded by the esteemed music school of Prayag Sangeet Samiti in India and is pursuing her final year of Bachelor’s in Indian Classical Music. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Communications and a Diploma in Education. She has experience as a teacher in Cambridge-affiliated schools and has been teaching music for many years. With her experience in music, communication studies and education, Ujjainee strives to integrate music with educational principles that contribute to a well-rounded life experience while promoting holistic development in a fun and positive environment.
Siddharth Prakash Rao
Siddharth (Sid) Rao, from the rainforest town of Thirthahalli in India’s Western Ghats, has been devoted to playing the Tabla since childhood. Trained for 15 years in various Gharana styles by renowned gurus, including Ustad Baabu Harlaapur and Pandit Ravindra Yaavagal, he comes from a musical family—his mother, Shrimathi Vibha Prakash Rao, is a classical vocalist.
Siddharth has performed across India and Europe, collaborating with artists to blend Indian classical music with other genres. He also plays various folk and global percussion instruments and has a strong theatre background. His teaching style fuses fun, math, and music theory, treating rhythm as a language of emotional expression.
Upendra Siriwardana
Sangeeth Visharadh Upendra Siriwardana is a dynamic and award-winning female singer, vocal coach, and performing artist with over a decade of experience in North Indian classical and Western vocal music. She completed a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Special Degree) in Music from the University of the Visual & Performing Arts, Sri Lanka and Visharad II in North Indian Classical Vocal Music from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith, India, passed with First Division.
She has trained hundreds of students across diverse vocal styles with her specialty in Bollywood and Indian contemporary vocals, blending traditional technique with emotional expression, stage confidence, and performance artistry. Her holistic voice training integrates yoga, breath-work, emotional release, and posture correction tailored for all ages and skill levels. Above all, she is deeply passionate about building confidence in students and helping them find their unique musical voice and identity. Her teaching languages include English, Sinhala, and Hindi, and she is currently learning Finnish.
